¡VIVA! HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH

Hispanic Heritage Month always makes us pause.

Not just to celebrate—but to remember what it’s taken to feel proud of something we were once told to tone down.

To speak with an accent.
To come from somewhere else.
To belong everywhere and nowhere at the same time.
To carry grief in one language and dream in another.

That’s what this month is about for me.
Not flags and hashtags.
But the real, everyday choices we make to keep our culture alive—
even when we’re tired.
Even when we feel disconnected.
Even when we’re still learning how to belong to ourselves.

At VOZ NYC, this isn’t just a campaign.
It’s our whole reason for existing.

To tell our stories.
To speak in Spanglish.
To hold memory and future in the same breath.

This month, we’ll share art, voices, and reflections rooted in that belief:
that our culture is not frozen in time.
It’s alive, loud, evolving.
And so are we.

Gracias for being part of this.
