Casa del Sol didn’t begin with a color palette.
It began with the light.
From the apartment’s balcony in Cartagena, the Caribbean is constantly changing. Mornings arrive bright and soft. By afternoon, the sea and sky become intensely blue. Toward evening, everything begins to warm.
When Casa del Sol began taking shape, the goal was never to compete with that landscape. It was to create a home that belonged to it.
Developed as a hospitality and cultural project by VOZ NYC, with interior design and creative direction by David Grim Studio, Casa del Sol became an experiment in translating place, identity and Caribbean living into a physical environment.
The result is a two-bedroom boutique stay where hospitality, culture and design intersect.
The question behind the project was deceptively simple:

The interiors of Casa del Sol were developed by David Grim Studio, an American-led interior design and creative direction studio based in Cartagena.
For the studio, Casa del Sol became an early expression of a broader design philosophy: sophisticated interiors don’t need to erase the character of the places they inhabit.
Instead, the design responds to it.
At Casa del Sol, that meant balancing a refined American design sensibility with the warmth, light, texture and indoor-outdoor rhythm of Caribbean life.
Rather than interpreting Cartagena literally, David Grim Studio approached the apartment through proportion, material, comfort and atmosphere.
The Caribbean provides the drama.
The interiors provide the restraint.
That relationship became central to the finished space.
