YEИDRY Brings Dominican Pop to NPR’s Tiny Desk for El Tiny

The Dominican artist performed a seven-song set as NPR Music continues its annual celebration of Latin music during Hispanic Heritage Month.

Dominican artist YEИDRY has arrived behind one of music’s most recognizable desks.

The singer performed a seven-song Tiny Desk concert as part of NPR Music’s El Tiny, the annual Latin music takeover coinciding with Hispanic Heritage Month.

Her performance is the third of 10 concerts planned for this year’s series, according to information provided to VOZ NYC by NPR.

YEИDRY’s set included:

“Nena”
“Espejo”
“Mentira”
“Mala mia”
“Amapolas”
“Un dolore raro”
“No me vuelvo a enamorar”

For YEИDRY, the appearance also puts a Dominican voice at the center of a series designed to showcase just how expansive contemporary Latin music has become.

El Tiny returns for Hispanic Heritage Month

Produced by Alt.Latino co-hosts Anamaria Sayre and Felix Contreras, El Tiny runs from September 15 through October 15.

NPR says this year’s 10-concert lineup spans countries, generations and genres, from pop and cumbia to jazz, ska, rock, indie, Tejano and norteño.

Alongside YEИDRY, the 2026 lineup includes Mon Laferte, Los Mirlos, Alex Ferreira, Melissa Aldana and Gonzalo Rubalcaba, Panteón Rococó, Tim Bernardes, Los Texmaniacs, Draco Rosa and Los Tigres del Norte.

The diversity is part of the point.

Rather than presenting “Latin music” as a single sound, the lineup moves across Chile, Peru, the Dominican Republic, Cuba, Mexico, Brazil, Puerto Rico and the United States.

NPR’s El Tiny project dates to 2021. NPR has previously described the series as part of its effort to introduce audiences to music from across the Latin world.

Contreras described that cross-cultural reach in NPR’s announcement for this year’s series:

“Latin music is the world’s music and is something worth celebrating.”

A Dominican moment behind the desk

YEИDRY’s appearance brings the Dominican Republic into this year’s celebration alongside fellow Dominican artist Alex Ferreira.

And within the famously intimate Tiny Desk format, the seven-song performance offers audiences another way into an artist whose music moves across languages and influences.

For El Tiny, that is precisely the larger story.

There isn’t one sound that defines Latin music in 2026.

There are many.

And for the next several weeks, they’re taking over the Tiny Desk.
